Making the transition to a low carbon economy whilst ensuring a secure energy supply is one of the greatest challenges facing the UK today. In response to this challenge, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) awarded £5.9M to the University of Sheffield in January 2009 to establish EFutures, a Doctoral Training Centre for Energy Research.
