About the National Metals Technology Centre
The National Metals Technology Centre (NAMTEC) is part of the University of Sheffield's Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC). Originally formed in 2002, NAMTEC improves the competitiveness and sustainability of the metals and related engineering/manufacturing industries throughout the UK. We provide an innovative technical support programme to industry and deliver direct economic benefit to the UK’s manufacturing base.
NAMTEC’s activities predominantly address three key sectors:
- Oil & Gas
- Aerospace & Defence
- Power Generation, including wind, marine renewable, nuclear, fossil fuel and carbon capture & storage

What NAMTEC does
