Five technical sessions will focus on nuclear energy, aerospace, energy supply chain and transport applications, and then consider some advanced technologies.
David Martin, UKAEA Culham Science Centre will describe the most extreme of applications with his opening address on ‘Engineering Challenges in Fusion Energy' including the current plans for the ITER project to prove the feasibility of the concept, before moving to the DEMO project to have an on-line nuclear fusion facility by 2020-30.
Dr David Clarke, Chief Executive, Energy Technologies Institute will close the conference with more current developments in his presentation on 'Engineering Challenges in energy Technologies
