Description:
Members of the Special Metals Forum and Titanium Information Group understand the importance of National and International Standards but not how they are developed and how companies can influence their formulation. In response to their request, the National Metals Technology Centre are pleased to offer you the chance to hear an expert from the British Standards Institute (BSI) describing the work of the BSI and how standards are developed.
Karen Border of BSI will present on the Ferrous Sector and Standardisation; she will advise on how you can be involved in the Standardisation process which is not often understood by companies.
We are also delighted to have Susanne Knight from the World Metal Index to explain the MI-21 database - this is a database of over 200,000 standards, equivalents and mechanical properties for a wide variety of individual metal grades.
Who should attend?
Anyone involved in the development of metal grades or the selection of metals, processing of metals and supply of metals.
