Martin Havenhand
Martin has been the chair of NAMTEC since May 2006 and from December 1998 to April 2006 he was the Chief Executive of Yorkshire Forward, the Regional Development Agency for Yorkshire and Humber and worked at the interface between the private and public sectors, getting the best out of both.
In addition to being the Chair of NAMTEC, Martin is; Chair of Sheffield City Region; Chair of the Advance Group of Companies; Non Executive Director of Gladedale Group (National House builders); Non Executive Director of Yorkshire Water; Non Executive Director of Creative Sheffield (Sheffield Economic Development Company); Chair of the Fieldfare Trust; and Executive Chair of the Yorkshire Steering Committee for 2012.
He has a keen interest in lifelong learning and obtained a Masters degree in Managing Change in 1998, attended a Harvard University Strategic Leadership programme in 2004 and has completed a Non-Executive development programme through the Institute of Directors. In December 2006 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Bradford for services to the economy and the Yorkshire and Humber Region.
