A series of Leadership and Innovation Seminars are being held during 2009.
The first seminar was held at DavyMarkham Limited on Wednesday 28th January. DavyMarkham has over 100 years of manufacturing experience and expertise and are one of the largest engineering workshops in Western Europe. Current workshop activities include fabrications for a £20 million mine hoist contract and cutter heads for Robbins tunnel boring machines, along with a 300 tonne casting.
The evening begin with a presentation by DavyMarkhams Managing Director - Kevin Parkin. The presentation covered the identification and justification of skills shortages during turnaround and business development, and why apprentice training should be justified like capital expenditure.
This was followed by a plant tour and refreshments. We would like to thank everyone who joined us for this successful evening.
